HOCHTIEF AG is a global construction group based in Germany. The Company operates through six business divisions. HOCHTIEF Americas division coordinates the Company's construction and civil engineering activities in the United States, Canada and Brazil. HOCHTIEF Asia Pacific covers construction activities in Asia and Australia, where it is active mainly in building, infrastructure and contract mining projects. HOCHTIEF Europe covers the Company's European construction operations, including high-rise buildings, malls, tunnels, bridges, airports, marine ports and sports stadia. The Home Depot, Inc.is a home improvement retailer. The Home Depot stores sell an assortment of building materials, home improvement and lawn and garden products, and provide a number of services. The Home Depot stores average approximately 105,000 square feet of enclosed space, with approximately 24,000 additional square feet of outside garden area. During the fiscal year ended February 1, 2009 (fiscal 2008), the Company had 2,233 The Home Depot stores located throughout the United States, including the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the territories of the United States Virgin Islands and Guam, Canada, China and Mexico. On January 26, 2009, the Company announced the closing of its EXPO, THD Design Center and Yardbirds stores.

The company reached $1 billion in sales by 1986, and had expanded internationally into Chile and Argentina. In 2001, it sold out its operations in Chile and Argentina; today, Home Depot operates in the US, Canada, Mexico and China.

Stores and Products

Home Depot provides a wide range of home building supplies (35,000 to 40,000 products per store) and services to its target customers. In 2008, the company operated 2,233 stores of which 88% were located in the United States and the other 12% in Canada, Mexico, and China. Most retail outlets are big-box stores averaging around 125,000 square feet of retail space (100,000 sq ft enclosed sales floors and 25,000 sq ft of garden areas outside).

Home Depot operates under four different business segments:

* Plumbing, Electrical and Kitchen (30.6% of net sales).
* Hardware and Seasonal (28.7% of net sales).
* Building Materials, Lumber and Millwork (22.1% of net sales).
* Paint and Flooring (18.6% of net sales).
